Ricardo J. Lopez, St. Petersburg Detective

The St. Petersburg Police Department announced that their Detective, Ricardo J. Lopez, is the 2013 recipient of the Ned March/Bud Purdy Award. This award is presented each year to a police officer or police sergeant who has demonstrated outstanding accomplishments during his or her law enforcement career at the department.

Detective Lopez, the first Hispanic selected for this significant award, credits his parents for instilling in him the virtues of family, integrity, education, hard work and self-achievement.
Congratulations Detective Lopez.

NLPOA Delaware Chapter president, Captain
Victor Ayala , was promoted to the rank of Inspector of the Wilmington Police Department, Wilmington, DE. Victor is the highest ranking Latino police officer in the state.

Congratulations to [C] Sergeant Sonia Trudeau!
Sonia is the first Latina to be promoted to a supervisory rank in the history
of the New Castle County Police, Delaware.
