Fresno County
Santa’s Village
December 9, 2017

On Saturday, December 9, 2017, the NLPOA Fresno County members participated at the first year Santa’s Village for the Highway City Community at Teague Elementary School in Fresno, CA. The NLPOA members provided paper Christmas Trees with cereal and candy canes as decorations for the trees. The students are shown (pictures) how to glue the cereal and candy canes to the trees for their Christmas trees ornaments. The parents and children enjoyed creating their own trees and decorations. NLPOA Fresno provided to each student an NLPOA Fresno County Book marker and paper Star Badge. In addition to the crafts, there was a parade lead by the Teague Elementary School band, (Mascots) Fresno Grizzlies Parker, Fresno State Timeout, Santa Grinch and PBS Clifford and Kitten. Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus made their entrance in the Fresno Police Department police cars. Over 1000 hotdogs and drinks were served, as well as door prizes.

Thank you goes out to Rosemary Diaz, Maria Ortiz, Bert DeSantiago and Rachel Diaz for organizing the tables and items for the event, as well as to Principal Ruben Diaz Jr, who coordinated the event.
