Fresno County Chapter
2017 Si Se Puede Latino Youth Conference
Sergeant Jose Gutierrez addressing the students.
The Si Se Puede Conference at Fresno State University was well attended as in the past years. NLPOA Fresno County has participated for the last 8 years in this event. For the last 20 years the American Mexican Educators of Fresno County, Fresno State University and various Latino professionals come together for the benefit of our young Jr. High School and High School students in the Fresno and Madera Counties. Over 900 Latino Male students attend the conference. The purpose of the event is to encourage the Latino Males to stay in school. The Latino Professionals tell their stories of how we succeeded in our careers facing the many challenges. Law Enforcement is one of the professions and seems to draw a lot of interest from the students. This year NLPOA Fresno County Chapter members Sergeant Jose Gutierrez, Luis Guillen and Sergeant Ian Holguin, from the California Highway Patrol represented NLPOA. The students appreciate the time and effort the professionals contribute. Thank you goes out to all the Latino Professionals who took time from their busy schedules to work and mentor our youth.
