2016 Award Dinner
Carlos joined the King County Sheriff’s Office in October 1989. During his 26-year career in the he held numerous assignments: Burglary/Larceny Detective, Field Training Officer, School Resource Officer, Transit Police and Patrol Deputy. Carlos worked mainly in south King County based out of the Southwest precinct in Burien which served the unincorporated areas of Skyway, White Center, Boulevard Park and Vashon Island. Carlos officially retired from the sheriff’s office on February 29th 2016.
He joined the Black Law Enforcement Association of Washington in 1991 and is still active. He has also been a longtime supporter of NLPOA and has attended several meetings. Carlos is a recipient of the King County Sheriff’s Office Quality Policing Award and was a nominee for the 1999 King County Humanitarian Award. He is a U.S. Army veteran, father of 2 adult sons and a grandfather. Originally from New Jersey, he’s resided in Washington since 1987.
