New Year Messages

May this Christmas end the present year on a cheerful note and make way for a fresh and bright new year. Becoming the new Chapter President for "Sacramento NLPOA" will be a challenge I'm looking forward to, working with my brothers and sisters across the nation to make our country a better place to live,
"Si Se Puede".

Here's wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Miguel Arias , Sacramento NLPOA President.

Greetings to all.

On this beautiful Christmas I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for your commitment to serve. Only our families and our brothers and sisters in uniform know how much dedication and commitment it takes to serve our communities. Some of us joke that we do it for ‘the good pay and retirement', but let's keep it real. There is no municipality that can pay a Peace Officer for all the human tragedy that an Officer witnesses during ones career. It truly takes a resilient, courageous, and loving person to serve. And for that I thank you.

In addition to individual acts, there are great organizations that have been formed by these same men and women for the purpose of creating a new future. We are all fortunate to be part of one of them- The National Latino Peace Officer Association. There is no better time like the present to acknowledge this. You are all part of this great Association that has contributed so much to both peace officers and communities. For that, thank you. Thank you for being a leader in your respective organization by being a member of this association.

So in the Spirit of Christmas, my heartfelt thoughts of happiness, health, and peace are wished upon you and your loved ones.

I end with a Challenge. I challenge all of NLPOA's members and officers to step-up in your respective positions this coming year. We need each other now more than we ever have. I believe that it is no longer a struggle against inequalities but a struggle against ourselves and the image that we are building. I challenge you to step out of your comfort zones and take some initiative to do what is right, to complete what has been left unfinished, and most importantly to fulfill our promises and oath of our office. I for one except this challenge and hope to be held accountable. We are all great people and can accomplish much when we work together. Let's make 2014 NLPOA's year.

Que tengan una Feliz Navidad y un prospero ano Nuevo.

Lorenzo J. Uribe

President

NLPOA- Long Beach Chapter.

Greeting from the State of Texas

Happy Holidays everyone! I pray this message finds each of you safe and in good health. I hope you were able to spend time with Family and Friends.

It gives me great pride and joy seeing our members coming together to assist members in need and working in their Communities especially during the Holidays. This kind of kindness and dedication is what makes me proud to be a part of this association. As we enter into a new year, I ask each of you to continue the good work and become involved so your voice can be heard. Unified and working together is the only way to make this association one of the best.

I ask that we take a moment to remember our fellow officers in blue who have fallen in the line of duty and their families. And let's not forget all the first responders and our Military men and women throughout the world who are keeping us safe.

On behalf of the State of Texas, we salute and thank you each of you for your commitment to serve and for doing your part in making our communities a safer place to live.

May 2014 bring each of you happiness and good health.

Michael Ramirez

President

Texas State

With the year rapidly coming to an end, I would like to take this time to thank the NLPOA-Los Angeles Chapter Board, members, their families and community for all their support over the last year. We have had our share of ups and down over the last year as a chapter and organization as a whole but we all maintained a positive can do attitude which enabled us to accomplish so much. As you all know we have put together an exciting schedule for 2014 and I look forward to working with you hand in hand to make this an excellent year for the NLPOA-LA! My family and I would also like to wish you all a safe and blessed new year.

John Yateem
President
NLPOA Los Angeles Chapter
